To create a culture of health, employers can play a key role in supporting healthy choices and options and also engage in community activities to promote health and well-being.

Healthy workplaces improve communities by promoting a culture of health for employees and offer healthy employer benefits. Research us clear - a healthy employee is an at work employers, a high performing employee, a productive employee, a happy employee, and a low cost employee. As health risk increase, so does their health costs.

Comprehensive workplace health programs improve the health and productivity of employees while reducing health costs for the employer and employee alike. Healthy worplaces offer places, policies, and programs that support healthy behaviors and health consumerism..

Mississippi employers can become recognized for their workplace health programs by completing online best practice survey and meet the minimum standards. Those employers who are doing it well, can compete for the Healthiest Workplace Award.

Employers who are healthy invest into the community by providing funding for community activities and events. They facilitate employee volunteerism in the community and promote other healthy businesses in the community.
